Abstract

534,918. Snap-action switches. PARSONS, Ltd., C. H., and HANDLEY, G. B. Dec. 14, 1939, No. 32188. [Class 38 (v)] In a switch in which a dolly or operating lever 13, pivoted at 24 drives a contact member 14 pivoted at 20 through a pin-and-slot connection 25, a spring 18, arranged between a fixed abutment 15 and a lever 19 connected to the lever 13 at 25, is strained during the switch opening movement at the end of which the pivot 25 just passes a dead-centre position so that the switch is held open when the hand is released. The lever 13 instead of being operated directly by hand as shown may be operated by a pull chain, Figs. 7 ... 9 (not shown). Specification 406,576 is referred to.
