Abstract
534,623. Alloys; annealing. BRADBURY, T. F. Aug. 26, 1939, No. 24613. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] An aluminium, alloy contains 3.8-4.3 per cent. of copper, 1.2-1.7 per cent. of magnesium, up to 0.4 per cent. of iron, up to 0.4 per cent. of silicon, and a total of 0.1-0.5 per cent. of one or more of the metals tin, antimony and cadmium, with or without up to 0.3 per cent. of zirconium, up to a total of 2 per cent. of manganese, chromium, and titanium, and up to a total of 1 per cent. of one or more of the elements boron, bismuth, lead, tungsten, molybdenum, beryllium, zinc, niobium, tantalum, vanadium, silver, cerium, and thorium. After mechanical working, the alloy may be heated at 500-510‹C., quenched, and aged naturally for 5 days.
