Abstract

532,278. Pipe joints. CONDUIT FITTINGS Ltd., HOCKHAM, J., and SMITH, J. Aug. 24, 1939, No. 24343. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXVI and XXXVII] Non-circular conduit 5 is attached to a junction box, switch box, &c. by a socket member 6 attached to the box and shaped to fit the conduit and having a housing 6b opening out from one side of the socket with a tapered recess to receive a wedge 8. With rectangular conduit the housing 6b is located at one angle, the wedge 8 on being driven home biting into the conduit 5 to make a good electrical joint. The construction is applied to the box described in Specification 532,279, [Group XXXVI].
