Abstract
476,316. Conduits. SMITH, W. H. June 5, 1936, No. 15767. [Class 36] [Also in Group XXVIII] A concrete or like conduit for cables or pipes comprises identical upper and lower sections A, A<1>, formed with one or more recesses B which when the sections are placed together, form passages for the cables or pipes. The sections are each provided with at least one depression and one projection so positioned that the depression of the upper member engages the projection of the lower member and vice versa. Thus, the upper member may have a rib D for engagement in a channel C<1> in the lower member and a channel C which is engaged by a rib D<1> of the lower member. Each section may be formed on one end face with a rib E and on the opposite face with a corresponding groove so that successive sections interlock. The joints between G the upper sections are preferably staggered with respect to the joints G<1> between the lower sections. The joints between all sections may be grouted.
