[Class 25] A cowl, aspirator or like device for chimneys comprises a chimney portion attached to the stack and a deflector member adjustably mounted above the chimney portion deflecting all the smoke or gases downwardly into a surrounding cylindrical member provided with a downwardly directed outlet for the solid material separated from the smoke or gases. The invention is described with reference to the same cowl as is described in Specification 531,918.
