Abstract

837,355. Breathing-masks. MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO. Jan. 20, 1958. No. 17737/59. Divided out of 837,354. Class 81 (2). The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 837,354 but the claims are concerned with a flexible breathing-mask having a window 6 mounted in a longitudinally curved ocular opening, a deflector 31 being disposed in the mask with most of its edges in contact with the mask wall to form an air duct leading from an air inlet at the bottom of the mask to outlets, which are formed by spacing the edges of the deflector from the mask wall at opposite sides of the window, and a valve 26 being disposed so that incoming air is directed through the duct.
