Abstract
531,600. Magnetic work holders. NARUSE, Y. July 27, 1939, No. 21882. [Class 60] A magnetic work holder comprises two sets of magnets A, B, C &c. and a, b, c &c. mounted in frames of non-magnetic material, the upper frame being fixed in projections 2 of a soft iron base 1. The lower frame is mounted to slide by means of side rods 6 under control of a lever 9. The magnets are alternately arranged as regards polarity and the position shown in the Fig. 4 is that in which the work is clamped. When the lower frame is slid to the right, the poles are opposed in the meeting faces of the two sets of magnets and the gap in the work is reduced to permit removal.
