[Class 60] [See also Group XXXV] A magnetic workholder comprises a permanent magnet having two pole-pieces a, b with wide polefaces joined at intervals by thin webs c, integral with the polepieces, lead or other non - magnetic metal, &c. d being cast, &c. in the spaces e between the poles. In larger work-holders, there are provided several poles, and abutments are provided on the pole-faces to prevent movement of the articles during machining. According to the Provisional Specification, the web c may run the whole or a part of the width of the poles, or may be omitted.
