Abstract
602,290. Making transformer cores. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. Nov. 6, 1945, No. 29542. Convention date, June 26, 1940. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXV] ' In making cores from two packs of similar laminations, one forming a winding leg 3 and the other being reversed to form a yoke 4, complementary groups of laminations in the two packs are longitudinally displaced so as to reduce gap reluctance by forming dovetail joints. Relatively movable grooved blocks, Fig. 5 (not shown), which may be combined with clamping means are used for effecting displacement of the laminations, and the two packs are finally secured in assembled relationship by clamps 9. The laminations are punched from sheet metal 2 and are shaped as shown to avoid waste.
