Abstract
528,280. Vehicle spring-suspensions. TENCH, F. (Lokomotivfabrik Krauss & Co., J. A., Maffei Akt.-Ges.). May 2, 1939, No. 13150. [Class 108 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXI] The load-supporting rollers a of an endlesstrack vehicle are mounted on cranked levers d controlled by torsion rod springs h, the levers d of each transverse pair of rollers having their pivots on the chassis frame slightly out of line, as shown in Fig. 3, so that each torsion rod can extend right across the frame. In the construction shown each lever is mounted in bearings f, g, in an oval frame tube i which accommodates the two sets of bearings and two torsion rods for a pair of levers d. In a modification each lever is mounted in rubber bushes or bearings in the tube i. The rear rollers k are mounted on co-axial double cranks l, l<SP>1</SP>, controlled by shorter torsion rods enclosed in a tube m.
