Abstract
527,060. Supply systems for discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., FRANCIS, V. J., and RYDE, J. W. March 30, 1939, No. 9955. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XL] In a high - pressure, metal vapour, discharge lamp a number of pairs of electrodes 1, 1<SP>1</SP>-2, 2<SP>1</SP> - 5,5<SP>1</SP>. are arranged along the envelope each pair acting for a discharge path ; the pairs are fed in parallel from a single transformer with a number' of secondaries 7 ... 11. Ballast resistances 13 ... 17 are arranged in the circuits. By combing two adjacent electrodes-say 1<SP>1</SP> and 2-one electrode may serve for two discharge paths.
