Abstract
439,520. Supply systems for welding- arcs. GUEST, A. L., Epperstone, Fairy Road, Wrexham, Denbighshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. June 27, 1934, No. 19058. [Class 38 (iv)] Two or more electric arc heating or welding torches in which a current of gas such as hydrogen is passed through the arc are connected to a source of A.C. with pairs of arcing electrodes 1, 2 and 3, 4 in series with one another and with a common inductance 5, the circuit being completed through the secondary of a transformer 7 and switches 6. The torches may each include a pair of electrodes as described in Specifications 426,090 and 427,056, [both in Group XI], or a multiflame torch with two or more pairs of electrodes may be used as described in Specification 427,836, [Group XII]. The electrodes are individually adjustable so that they may be short circuited and the arcs thus struck serially. Specification 21703/00, [Class 38], also is referred to.
