Abstract

446,007. Arc heating torches. GUEST, A. L., Epperstone, Fairy Road, Wrexham, Denbighshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Jan. 9, 1936, No. 7695. Divided application. Addition to 439,644. [Class 39 (iii)] The atomic hydrogen torch described in the parent Specification is operated with an arc current value not greater than 12 amperes by closespacing of the electrodes or by choice or adjustment of the series reactor or leaky transformer in the arc circuit. Tungsten electrodes <1>/16 inch diameter spaced <1>/64-3/64 inch apart may be used. The circuit is such that 250 volts are available for striking the arc and the reactive drop is such as to allow 50-120 volts across the arc.
