[Class 83 (iv)] [See also Group XI] Electric welding, soldering or heating tongs comprising two pivoted levers each carrying a carbon electrode, have the electrodes fixed in divided collars, one formed by the end of its lever and the other secured to but insulated from the other lever and carrying one of the current leads. One of the leads from an accumulator, if the tool is used outside a workshop, or from a transformer if used in the workshop, is connected directly to a lug projecting from a divided collar f and insulated from the limb g and the other lead is secured to a copper member h insulated from the limb a on which the collar b is formed, and co-operating with a spring- controlled tongue j to serve as a switch. The electrodes d are secured in collars band f by screws c which pass through the lugs of copper current conducting collars e clamped on the electrodes.
