Electric currents, converting. - A regulating resistance for use especially in electric welding, comprises two strips 4 of elastic metal, such as iron, and an intermediate strip 10 of softer metal such as copper, all fixed together at one end. The strips 4 are bent into contact with the strip 10 by means of a hand-lever 6 and link 8. The resistance may form part of the secondary circuit 3 of a welding transformer, conducting springs 9 being provided to permit movement of the parts.
