525,660. Impregnated paper felt. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Feb. 24, 1939, No. 6235. Convention date, Feb. 24, 1938. Drawings to Specification. [Class 96] [Also in Group XXI] Undershot wads for shot-gun cartridges are composed of paper felt made from wood pulp, hemp, jute, cotton or wool waste, and impregnated with tar, asphalt, or mineral rubber &c. and, optionally rosin &c. Plasticizers such as paraffin wax, sulphonated castor oil, creosote and mineral turpentine may be included. Laminations of the wads may be adhered using casein, starch or rubber &c. or by pressure and there may be a cheap fabric reinforcement. The exposed faces may be paper-covered or coated with chalk &c.
