Abstract

524,325. Wafers. KARFIOL, E. Jan. 27, 1939, No. 2831. Convention date, Feb. 5, 1938. [Class 146 (ii)] [Also in Groups VIII and XVII] Adhesive tape 1, Fig. 2, consisting of cloth or paper strip coated on both sides with adhesive, is protected before use by readily removable sheet material 2 of greater area, overlying and adhering to both faces of the tape, with free marginal edges 3 and 5 extending beyond the tape preferably to different extents. The resultant composite strip may be transversely weakened by slits or rows of perforations 6, or the adhesive tape may consist of a number of separate sections. The protective sheet may be a single folded web of paper, cloth, or parchment, Fig. 2, or two separate strips, Fig. 8. A number of parallel tapes 1a, lb may be enclosed. The adhesive strip is suitable for attaching pictures or posters to walls or windows, or ornamental edgings to shelves, the tape, after stripping the protective cover from one surface, being pressed on the wall &c. after which the remainder of the covering is stripped off.
