Abstract

396,418. Surgical dressings ; packing. ZOCHER, C., 23II, Windscheidstrasse, Leipsic, Germany. Jan. 22, 1932, No. 2065. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1931. [Class 81 (ii).] Measured quantities of cotton wool b suitable for ear and nose treatment are separated by layers a of paper, parchment, gauze, isinglass, &c., Figs. 1 and 3, and are packed in a casing of paper or the like. Alternatively, one or more rows of the pieces may be placed on a strip of paper, parchment, gauze, isinglass, &c., which is wound into a roll, Fig. 4. In constructions where there are disposed on one sheet of separating material more than one piece of cotton wool, these pieces may be produced by placing a larger piece or continuous strip of cotton wool on the separating layer and subdividing both by perforation. The individual pieces may be completely enclosed by two sheets or strips of separating material, the edges and free spaces being joined by pasting, rippling, grooving, folding or perforation. The pieces of cotton wool may be applied to the ear or nose by means of the holder disclosed in Specification 396,419. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 111,908, 231,518, and 314,644, [all in Class 94 (i), Packing &c.].
