Abstract
499,813. Respiratory appliances. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DES TELEPHONES (CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES, CAOUTCHOUC, CABLES). July 21, 1937, No. 20218. Convention date, July 25, 1936. [Class 81 (ii)] A filter for a respiratory appliance comprises a strip of filter material b, such as paper, folded longitudinally, for example as shown in Fig. 6, or Fig. 7, without any reinforcement being applied along the folding lines, the folded strip being coated on its edges with adhesive such as rubber solution and being rolled upon a core b<1>, Fig. 2, to cause the edges of adjacent turns to adhere to one another as at c. Spacing strips of leather are preferably rolled up with the strip b to assist adhesion of the edges and are withdrawn before use. The air passes through the filter in the direction of the arrows.
