Abstract
522,859. Raising liquids by heating in pipes. MERZ, V. Jan. 11, 1939, No.989. Convention date, Jan. 11, 1938. [Class 102 (ii)] A liquid feed apparatus comprises a casing 1 containing a number of pipes 2 to which the liquid flows. A pipe 7 is supplied with steam which passes through slots 9 to the interior of the casing 1 and passes to the outlet 15. The heating action in the pipes 2 causes the liquid to rise and flow into the container 5 from which the flow is controlled by a valve 12. A float 6 in the container 5 operates a valve 8 to regulate the steam supply. A vent 14 is fitted to collect the vapour.
