Drinking- appliances for animals.-A reservoir 4, adapted to rest on an annular support 2 pro. jecting from the middle of a drinking vessel 1, is provided in its base with a passage 6 in which a rod 9 carrying at each end a valve 10 can slide. A float 7, in a circular guide 8, rises and falls in accordance with the water in the vessel 1 and so actuates the valve to shut off or to supply water. The reservoir has a cover 3 and an air inlet 12.
