Mixing fluids in flow. - Mixing-apparatus for treating feed-water with an emulsion or reagent comprises a perforated tray at one end of a lever the other end of which controls a valve supplying the reagent &c., the arrangement being such that the valve is open only when water is supplied to the tray. The main tank a, is supplied with water by a pipe k passing into a depending tube l, and emulsion is fed from a tank b through a valve t which is controlled by a lever q, the other end of which carries the perforated tray n within a hopper-like casing o. Part of the main water supply is led by a pipe m into the tray and, while the supply is on, the tray is depressed and the valve opened to supply reagent through a pipe y, into a pipe p taking the discharge from the casing o: the pipe p discharges into the down tube l. The pipe y is fitted with a control cock (not shown). The tank b is supplied with emulsion from generators e as in Specification 176,294, [Class 123 (i), Liquid-level regulating &c.].
