[Class 75 (i)] An under-water cutting burner comprises a head b, a nozzle g, and a vaporizer e consisting of cylindrical passages d containing rough - sur - faced cylindrical members f. Liquid fuel supplied through a pipe a is vaporized shortly before being discharged through passages m to mix and burn with oxygen supplied through a pipe l to passages n. The passages m, n are so arranged as to produce eddies in the mixing chamber h, Cutting oxygen is supplied through a pipe o to a passage p, discharging centrally of the preheating flame. The upper part of the vaporizer is cooled by a water jacket formed between the vaporizer and an adjustable perforated sleeve k screwing on the head b.
