[Class 35] A machine has at least two commutators mounted one about the other, with or without slip-rings, and is provided with a multiple brush carrier having a number of brush holders extending from both sides of a single insulating ring mounted in a rotatable frame. Fig. 3 shows the arrangement and terminal board for a machine having two separate continuouscurrent commutator windings in which the high voltage commutator b and slip-rings d surround the low voltage commutator a, the slip-rings being tapped from the low voltage winding. The brush-holders extend from both sides of rocking apparatus disposed in the space f. Additional voltages, equal to half that on the commutator a, can be obtained from the terminals V' and the central tapping point V<SP>4</SP> of a choke connected across the slip-ring terminals V<SP>3</SP>.
