425,790. Windings for dynamo-electric machines; commutator switching arrangements. DAHLGREN, F. A., Djursholm, Sweden. Jan. 26, 1934, No. 2772. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1933. [Classes 35 and 38 (ii)] In order to take off direct current produced from an rotating magnetic field or a rotating winding by means of slip rings or fixed terminals without external commutator leads, two similar windings are provided exposed to the same field and connected to similar commutators. The Figure shows an arrangement of rotating windings 1<1>, 1<11> for a generator connected to commutators 2<1>, 2<11>. The point of maximum potential on the one commutator and of minimum potential at the other are connected by brushes 3<1>, 3" and corresponding points 41, 4" on the commutators are connected to slip-rings. An arrangement with stationary windings subjected to an rotating field and a commutator with contacts moving in synchronism with the field is also described. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes an arrangement in which the commutator is replaced by " swinging tongues " operated by alternating- current magnets. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
