441,748. Brushes for dynamo-electric machines. SIEMENS - PLANIAWERKE AKT.-GES. FUR KOHLEFABRIKATE, 128, Herzbergstrasse, Lichtenberg, Berlin. May 13, 1935, No. 14050. Convention date, April 4. [Class 35] In a laminated carbon brush for commutators and analogous purposes of the kind in which the conductive layers 3 are narrower than the spaces 2 between adjacent commutator segments 1, the conductive layers are formed of substance having low loss factors in respect of friction and contact potential. The carbon laminae 3 are insulated from each other by insulating layers 4 and a connecting plate 5 is arranged at the outer end of the brush. The broken line 6 shows the path for short-circuit currents between adjacent commutator segments. In some cases the central conductive layers only may be of low-loss material.
