516,702. Abrasives. CARBORUNDUM CO., and TENNANT, W. J. July 5, 1938, No. 19925. Addition to 497,006. Drawings to Specification. [Class 70] In abrasive' articles, as described in the parent Specification in which granular or powdered abrasive is mixed with a metallic bond and heated so as to bring the metal to a molten or plastic state, the bond consists of copper together with another metal which forms a diactile copper base alloy containing at least in part a solid solution. Copper containing tin up to 20 per cent., cobalt up to 10 per cent. or zinc up to 39 per cent. may be used. A composite grinding disc or wheel may contain expensive abrasive in the working surface and cheaper abrasive in the remainder added in an amount to produce equal shrinkage.
