Abstract

515,873. Supply meters; power meters. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., LTD., and TILSTONE, G. July 6, 1938, No. 19950. [Class 37] For improving the indication or registration curve of a meter the laminations 1 are formed with gaps 1a extending obliquely across a limb and are so stacked that the gaps form a number of separate zones of relatively high reluctance. Groups of laminations are built up and placed on one another in reverse order so that the gaps la are inclined in opposite directions, as shown in Fig. 4. One or more stiffening laminations 2 may be included in the core as described in Specification 494,191. These may be ungapped or provided with partial gaps and are placed at the top and bottom of the stack. One or more may be placed in intermediate positions between groups of gapped laminations. Specification 406,486 also is referred to.
