Abstract
514,683. Plant for making bituminous roadmaterial. ALMOND, A. F. April 14, 1938. No. 11515. [Class 107] Apparatus for the continuous heating and drying of stones or sand, or other aggregate, and mixing the dried material with bitumen comprises a rotatable drying chamber a from which the aggregate is transferred by a tilting receiver e to a moisture-expelling chamber d. From such chamber, the material descends by a shoot f to a rotary mixing chamber g to which bitumen is supplied from a tank j by pipe h and tilting receiver k. The latter is used also to transfer the mixed material to a discharge device l. The Provisional Specification states that the apparatus may be used also for mixing concrete.
