511,819. Tunnel kilns. GIBBONS BROS., Ltd., and EDWARDS, E. W. Sept. 9, 1938, No. 26305. [Class 51 (ii)] A gas fired tunnel kiln has two sets of burners, one set 17 delivering vertically upwards along the walls of the firing-zone, and the other set 16 delivering horizontally into a space 7 between the kiln trucks and the charge, the burners of the two sets alternating along the length of the firing-zone, and the vertically-delivering burners on one side being opposite to the horizontallydelivering burners on the other. Air is supplied to the burner ports from longitudinal flues 15.
