[Class 99 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXVI and XXV] A bonded joint between two parts of a screening system for the ignition leads of internalcombustion engines comprises a tubular piece 1 attached to one screening member 2 and having an external screw-thread with an internal taper and slits 1a at its end, and a sleeve 3 attached to the other screening member 4 and having an external taper 3a. A screw cap 5 screws on to the piece 1 and draws the sleeve 3 into it expanding the slit end to lock the cap 5. The piece 1 may have an internal flange 1b between which and the end of the sleeve 3 compressing a rubber &c., packing ring 6 that makes a watertight joint.
