An aerofoil for aircraft comprises a rearwardly projectable landing-flap arranged below a trailing edge, and is upwardly and downwardly pivotable for use also as an aileron both in retracted and any projected position. The flap c is adapted to be rearwardly projected by the device d operatedby'rack and pinion and is operated.as an aileron by a rod e connected to a bell-crank l mounted on the rod d and connected to the operating-mechanism by a rod o This arrangement produces downward deflection of the flap when it is projected by the device d.
