Abstract
478,190. Controlling aircraft CARDEN, A. D. June 9, 1936, No. 16087. [Class 4] A fixed wing 1 provided with a split flap 5 is formed with an air passage 3 leading from the upper surface of the wing to the space between the divided parts of the trailing edge, the upper end of passage 3 being closed by a flap 4 interconnected with the operating mechanism of flap 5 so that the passage is closed when flap 5 is raised and opened when it is lowered. The air passage may be arranged also to communicate with an aperture in the underside of the wing as at 10.
