Abstract
520,962. Aircraft controls. FAIREY AVIATION CO., Ltd., and YOUNGMAN, R. T. Nov. 4, 1938, No. 32036. [Class 4] An aircraft control surface has its hinge set back from the leading edge which extends into a chamber in a wing &c. the chamber being formed with a central opening communicating with one or more openings at or near the leading edge of the wing. As shown, the tail fin 11 is formed with a chamber 12 in which extends the leading edge of the rudder 13, the chamber being formed with a central opening 15 communicating with one or more openings at or near the leading edge which openings may be valve controlled. In its mid position the rudder closes the opening 15.
