[Class 110 (i)] [Also in Group XXVII] The gearing connecting a centrifugal compressor with a reversible internal-combustion engine consists of two trains with ball or roller clutches operative automatically in opposite directions. The gearing may consist of belts, chains or toothed gearings. The engine shaft is connected to the compressor shaft 11 through an intermediate shaft 10, gearwheels 1, 2, 8, 9 forming the first part of the drive, and gear-wheels 3, 4 or 5, 6, 7 forming the second part, the clutches being provided within the wheels 3, 5.
