505,729. Preparing fuel. GEWERKSCHAFT M. STINNES. June 9, 1938, No. 17214. Convention date, June 9, 1937. [Class 50] The melting point of solid coal extracts is raised and the ignition point lowered by treatment in oxygen or oxygen-containing gas, e.g. under pressure at temperatures between 100-200‹ C. In oxidizing at ordinary pressure by bringing together a stream of air or oxygencontaining gases and the powdered dry extracts, the temperature is desirably, gradually raised as from 80‹ C. up to 250‹ C. The oxidized extracts may be used in coal dust engines and in place of oil in oil firings. Specifications 293,808, [Class 32], and 460,383 are referred to.
