Convention date, Aug. 15, 1929. Addition to 335,228, [Class 55 (ii), Gas manufacture &c.]. [Class 55 (ii).] The additional constituents or at least the combustible gases required to restore the specific gravity, speed of ignition and heating value of coal gas from which carbon monoxide is removed according to the process of the parent Specification are obtained by treatment of the whole or a portion of the gas itself. The invention may be applied to the treatment of water gas or other low grade gas. The reaction of the gas, or the carbon monoxide removed by low temperature cooling; with water vapour may be effected in the presence of air and the carbon dioxide wholly or partly washed out being replaced by nitrogen in the mixture.
