Abstract
504,988. Fuel injectors. BOSCH GES., R. July 14, 1938, No. 20854. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1937. [Class 7 (iii)] The outlet of a fue injector is cooled by circulating a liquic through a jacket 11 preferably made o: pressed metal, which is secured around the fuel outlets 10 by brazing or welding and sealed at its opposite end by a cap nut 13 which secures the nozzle body 3 to a nozzle holder 1. The cooling liquid is admitted to a horseshoe space 15 in the jacket, at the same.level as the valve seat 5, through a port 17 in a bar 16 formed integral with the nozzle body, and is discharged through a pipe 21 opening out of the top of the space 15. Relative roation between the nozzle body and the holder is prevented by a pin (not shown). The jacket may have a shoulder 14 or a conical surface at its upper end engaged by a shoulder or conical surface on the nut 13.
