Abstract

719,952. Fuel injectors. SOC. ANON. A. SAURER. March 26, 1952 [April 24, 1951], No. 7239/52. Class 7(3) In a fuel-injection nozzle wherein t h e portion adjacent the spraying outlet consists of a narrow neck 20 and a spraying tip 42, a sleeve 40 of high-heat conductivity material, e.g. copper, is fixed on the neck 20 so as to be in contact therewith at its upper part but spaced therefrom at its lower part, the sleeve being formed with a seating portion 40 contacting the nozzle body seat 41 in the cylinder head 1. The nozzle is mounted in a copper sleeve 2 which is fixed in the cylinder head and surrounded by the cooling water. The sleeve 40 surrounds the lower part of the neck 20 with clearance in order to act as a shield against radiated heat, and is fixed to the upper part by rolling thereon over ribs or grooves 27 which anchor the sleeve in position. The needle valve 22 is guided in a member 23 which also forms a filter, and the injector body 21 is integral with the part 20. In a modification the injector body comprises two parts interconnected by a screwed sleeve.
