503,713. Exhaust systems. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG AKT.-GES. June 22, 1938, No. 18582. Convention date, Aug. 12, 1937. [Class 7 (ii)] In a multi-cylinder engine, an exhaust collector 3, having a capacity many times greater than that of the cylinders 7, to which it is connected by short passages 1, partially or wholly surrounds, and may be integral with, the cylinders. A flange is provided at the end of the collector 3 for the attachment of a normal exhaust pipe leading to a silencer which may be smaller than usual. Admission passages 9 are supplied by a chamber 5 in the engine frame.
