Four-stroke-cycle engines. - Four cylinders are arranged around an axis, their pistons 7 driving through a common connecting-rod 10. The cylinders may have a common combustion chamber 5; or the cylinders may be constructed with independent combustion chambers, opposite chambers being connected by a duct.
