Abstract

503,230. Tents. BUCK & SONS, Ltd., E. R., BUCK, F. M., and SCOUSE, J. Oct. 5, 1937, No. 26917. [Class 20 (i)] A ridge tent is formed with intermediate ridges in the sides so that there is a general slope downwards from the top but at two different inclinations, thus increasing the head room within the tent. The main ridge-pole c is supported by end poles a, b, and intermediate ridges i, j are formed by cross poles h, which may or may not be supported by the end poles. The cross poles are provided with spikes h<1> which fit in holes or sockets in the tent canvas, and further poles k may be used to support the intermediate ridges. The cover at each side terminates in a vertical wall d, and entrance flaps f, g are fitted to the front of the tent. Intermediate cross poles may be fitted between the end ones. Nets to form shelves may be slung between the poles which support the intermediate ridges.
