Abstract

223,988. Finlay, A. H. Aug. 1, 1923. Tents.-A tent frame is built up of members arranged in the form of a truncated skeleton icosahedron, leaving the top and middle portions to form the framework. The points of the triangles at the bottom of the middle portion may be pegged down or supported on spikes 3 driven into the ground. The corner connectors may be in the form of cones 5 with bayonet-slots 5a to receive bolts 6 on the ends of the members, or provided with elongated slots 5b to receive turnbolts 6<c> at the ends of the members. Other means of securing the connectors to the members comprise ball heads on the members entering slots on the connectors and retained therein by a spring sleeve, or a clamping-plate, or hooks on the ends of the members engaging a securing-ring with spring or other means to. maintain connection.
