3 Claims.
My invention relates to tents and more particularly to tents of the sectional type adapted for military or similar uses wherein the sections are individually transported.
One of the principal objects of my invention is to provide a tent structure wherein a group of like tent sections, when connected together, form a complete tent, and with said sections, when disassembled, being substitutable for similar sections of other groups thus enabling the sections of a plurality of groups to be individually transported and assembled into groups to form a plurality of tents and without prerequisite selection of the sections forming a particular group.
Another object of my invention is to provide a tent structure of the foregoing described character wherein the tent sections are provided with portions coacting together to form a floor for the tent.
An important object of my invention is to provide a tent structure of the foregoing described character which is simple in construction, durable in use, economical in manufacture and wherein the parts may be expeditiously assembled and disassembled.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description, appended claims and annexed drawings.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention.

In practising my invention, as illustrated in the drawings, I provide a tent 5 of the pyramid type having a quaternary of substantially triangular-shaped side tent sections 6. Each section 6 is provided at its side margins with flaps l for lapping engagement with the sides of the adjacent sections. The upper or apex ends 8 of the sections are provided with eyelets 9 and with the ends 8 being angularly disposed with respect to the bodies of the sections whereby to dispose the eyelets 9 in registry with each other.
- The baseor lower ends of the sides are provided with rectangular-shaped portions lll'coacting to form a floor H within the tent. The end faces of opposed pairs of said portions are disposed in abutting relation whereby one pair of said portions overlies the other pair and thus provides a floor having a plurality of layers. Each section is provided with a hook and eye l2 and I3 respectively secured to its inner face, adjacent the flaps and the portions I0 for detachably connecting the adjacent sections thereto superjacent the floor. The tent is interiorly supported in erected condition by means of a pole M, the latter being provided with a quarternary ofdetachable pole sections l5, each formed with a socket at one end and a dowel pin l6 at the other end for detachably securing the sections together and with the pin I! of the uppermost section extending through the eyelets 9 and thus maintaining the apex ends of the tent sections in connected relation.
Exteriorly, I employ a quaternary of tent ropes l8 having their upper ends detachably connected to the pin l1 and their lower ends to stakes IS, the latter being provided with a plurality of notches 20 whereby the ropes l8 may be adjusted from time to time to eliminate slack therein, it being understood that said ropes coact with the pole to maintain the tent in the erected position.
Obviously, by detaching the ropes l8 and re- I moving the pole Hi, the tent sections 6 may be disassembled from each other whereby each of the sections 6 together with a pole section l5, a
rope l8, and a stake I 9 may be assembled together into a bundle or the like for individual transportation,
Without further elaboration the foregoing will so fully explain the invention that others may,
by applying current knowledge, readily adapt the same for use under various conditions of service. Moreover, it is not indispensable that all the features of the invention be used conjointly since they may be employed advantage ously in various combinations and sub-combinations.
It is obvious that the invention is not confined to the herein described use therefor as it may be utilized for any purpose to which it is adaptable. It is therefore to be understood that the invention is not limited to the specific construction as illustrated and described as the same is only illustrative of the principles of operation, which are capable of extended application in various forms, and that th invention compreangular-shaped side sections and with the upper ends of said sections being disposed in lapped relation with each other and provided with registering openings, a pole centrally disposed within said tent and having an' upper terminal extending through said openings and functioning to maintain said upper ends in connected relation and said tent in erected condition, each section provided with means for detachably connecting it to the adjacent section, said sections having lower ends provided with inwardly extending floor portions and with opposed pairs of said portions having their adjacent edges disposed in abutting relation and one of said pair being lapped over the other pair to provide a floor within said tent.
3. A tent having a plurality of detachable triangular-shaped side sections and with the upper ends of said sections being disposed in lapped relation with each other and provided with registering openings, a pole centrally disposed within said tent and having an upper terminal extending through said openings and functioning to maintain said upper ends in connected relation and said tent in erected condition, each section provided with means for detachably connecting it to the adjacent section, said sections having lower ends provided with inwardly extending floor portions and with opposed pairs of said portions having their adjacent edges disposed in abutting relation and one of said pair being lapped over the other pair, to provide a floor within said tent, and means, exteriorly of said tent, connecting said terminal to the ground and coacting with said pole to maintain said tent in said erected condition.
