[Class 53] [Also in Groups XXV and XXXI] A battery for supplying current to the lamp of a bicycle &c. is enclosed in a holder comprising two parts 1, 2 provided with flanges 3, 4 which are gripped and held together by one part 6 of a clamp the other part 7 of which grips the frame of the bicycle. The two parts 6, 7 are detachably connected together by bolts and nuts 18 and when separated for removal of the battery the part 7 remains clamped to the bicycle by a bolt and nut 21. Fig. 1 shows a construction of holder in which one terminal 16 of the battery is in electrical contact with the clamp and bicycle frame through a spring 8. The other end of the holder is provided with a screw 13 through which a conductor 12 having a metal head 19 passes. Contact is made and broken between the head 19 and battery terminal 15 by manipulating the screw 13. The lamp terminals may be secured to the conductor 12 and clamp members 6, 7, Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the screw 13 is provided with a metal sleeve having a metal contact head 19. The conductor 12 is provided with a plug for insertion in the metal sleeve. Fig. 5 shows a further modification in which the battery terminal 15 is placed in contact with the holder 1 by a screw 13 which is surrounded by a spring 8. The conductor 12 is secured by a screw 25 to a metal shoe 24 which rests on an insulating washer 23 and makes contact with the battery terminal 16. Fig. 6 shows a lamp the terminals of which are connected to the conductor 12 and a bracket 27 carried by the clamp 6, 7.
