Abstract

Fluorosulphonic acid is obtained by continuously passing sulphur trioxide and hydrogen fluoride in equivalent quantities through a reaction tube. One or both of the reactants may be in the liquid or gaseous state. The reaction tube is preferably made of aluminium and is preferably cooled, say to 20 DEG C.
