Abstract

495,795. Automatic exchange systems; electricity supply. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and FRYDMAN, E. May 20, 1937, No. 14101. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXV] An arrangement for obtaining a booster voltage from the main battery in a small office comprises a set of relays K, L, M connected up when necessary by contacts such as 10 and operated cyclically to control the charge and discharge of electrolytic condensers QA ...QC. The arrangement is preferably such that at all times two condensers are connected to the booster bus-bar 11 and the other is being charged. Low resistances YA ... YC limit the current if the condensers are accidentally short-circuited.
