495,594. Acoustic horns ; loud - speakers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Oct. 19, 1937, No. 28460. Convention date, Nov. 13, 1936. [Class 13] [Also in Group XXXIX] A horn for a loud-speaker in a public address system has one of its bounding walls normal to the mouth of the horn whereby it is adapted to be mounted with this wall against the ceiling of an auditorium so that the effective height of the mouth of the horn is increased. The horn 12 which is formed with a flat upper wall 14 normal to the mouth 15, diverging side walls and a downwardly inclined plane lower wall 21, is connected by a throat portion 11 with vertical side walls 19, 20 to a receiver 16. The horn is divided by members 22, preferably of balsa wood, into exponential chambers 23, 24, 25 of equal cross-sectional area at equal distances from the throat.
