[Class 40 (v)] In a superheterodyne receiver with automatic frequency control, the disadvantage of leaving the radio frequency stages slightly detuned when the A.F.C. has adjusted the local oscillator frequency to give the true I.F. is obviated by providing a tuning indicator 5, preferably of the cathode-ray type, by means of which the tuning condition of the preselector may be observed and manual adjustment may be made to almost exact tune. The indicator 5 which is energized from a diode rectifier 3, may be connected either to the input or output side of the frequency changer CV-LO. Specifications 456,928 and 471,738 are referred to.
