Abstract

490,978. Gas turbine plant. AKT.- GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Nov. 3, 1937, No. 30163. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1936. [Class 110 (iii)] A gas turbine plant, comprising a turbine Tg driving an electrical generator G and plant auxiliaries, and a second turbine Tc driving a compressor C, has the quantity of fuel supplied to a combustion chamber A regulated in accordance with the speed of the turbine Tg and the outlet air pressure of the compressor C. A pump M supplies fuel to the burner, and a pump P feeds oil to the bearings by way of a pipe U, and oil for controls Z, S, D. A pipe W leads air from the compressor to beneath a diaphragm L, and oil from a pipe N enters a cylinder D and flows through an outlet hole F. The cylinder D and piston T may both be moved axially to control the quantity of oil passing through the hole F. A piston S is under the influence of oil in a pipe J and a spring, to control the quantity of fuel passing to the chamber A. The temperature of the gases leaving the chamber A may be kept constant by means of a mixture regulator comprising two diaphragms X, Y. The spaces on each side of X are connected to opposite sides of a measuring constriction in the pipe E, and the spaces on opposite sides of Y, to a measuring constriction in the air intake pipe of the compressor C.
